Welcome to my website. My name is Jeff Rice and I live in Lexington Kentucky. I carve stone. I also restore old stone work that is able to be salvaged or repaired. If it can't be repaired and there is enough of the original left, then it can be carved using traditional tools and techniques. In the 1800's my family had a marble quarry in Hawkins county Tennessee. Stone from that quarry is part of the Washington Monument. Maybe that is why I carve stone or feel drawn to pick up a hammer and chisel. Stone carving is as old as man. To me there is something almost magical about picking up a stone and giving it shape and form.
